![]() Genevieve County Sheriff's Office and Detention Centers takes the safety and security of the residents seriously, this includes the safety and security from sexual abuse, sexual harassment and retaliation within our detention center population. If the alleged abuse is between staff and offender, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Division of Drug and Crime Control, will be requested to take the lead on the investigations. When a sexual abuse investigation is alleged between offenders, the Detective Bureau will take the lead on the investigation. Genevieve County Detention Center was audited for PREA compliance on July 28-29, 2016 by a certified PREA Auditor and the final report is on file at our facility. If you wish to report sexual abuse or sexual harassment as a third party you may email the Jail Administrator by clicking the email link above, you may email Ste. Genevieve County Detention Center has a zero-tolerance policy in regards to sexual abuse / sexual harassment. We will not mail items out for detainees, nor will we fax or email. The detainee is responsible for mailing out the Letter of Incarceration to the appropriate party or agency. If a subject is still currently incarcerated in our facility, that individual must submit a General Request requesting a Letter of Incarceration and it will be provided. All requests must come from the individual that was incarcerated, not from a third party. Andrew Johnson at you are in need of a Letter of Incarceration and you are no longer incarcerated in our facility, you must mail your request in writing along with a self-addressed stamped envelope to the attention of custodian of records. If you have any questions about our Detention Facility, please feel free to email Jail Administrator Lt. Detainees held in this facility range from civil detainees to dangerous felons. In addition to the normal daily responsibilities of housing detainees, these employees are responsible for transporting detainees to and from court, handling in-state and out-of-state extraditions and maintaining facility security. There are currently 35 full time deputies/correctional officers that staff the Detention Center. The Detention Center serves all law enforcement for our community including local, state and federal agencies. Genevieve County Sheriff's Office Detention Center is a modern facility capable of housing approximately 300 detainees daily. THESE VISITS ARE FOR 30 MINUTES, BASED ON FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. ***PLEASE BE ADVISED THAT OUR VISITATION POLICY HAS CHANGED.*** VISITATION IS ON SUNDAY FROM 12:00 TO 4:00.
